Most people setting up Loquela are doing it for someone else — a parent, most likely. This page is for you. It takes about five minutes, and they never have to do any of it themselves.
The iPhone or iPad they will actually use — not yours.
The very first question. The moment you pick it, everything they will ever see is in that language.
For a doctor's visit in New Zealand, that's English. Tap done and hand it over.
A good idea before you hand it over: use it yourself, out loud, for a minute. Tap a phrase and hear it spoken. When they see you using it as a normal thing, it becomes a normal thing.
No. Loquela works the moment it opens — no account, no sign-up, nothing to pay before it works. An account is only for keeping a backup or subscribing, and it's offered, never required.
Listening and speaking keep working — they run on the device itself. Translation pauses until the connection returns. Nothing already said is lost.
Any time, in Settings. You can preview each voice before choosing — pick together if you can. The text size slider changes text everywhere, with a live preview.
From inside the app, in Settings. Deletion removes backups first, then the account — it's real and immediate. An Apple subscription is cancelled separately, in Apple's subscription settings; the app shows you where.
Tell us. Reaching the languages other apps overlook is why Loquela exists — a request for a language is the most useful message we get.
